Amie began her journey by participating in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), a vital practice that helps reduce stray and feral cat populations. After six months of doing TNR, Amie realized she could do even more by opening her home to foster cats. “I came to fostering after spending 6 months doing TNR in my community. I realized I could do so much more help by fostering as well,” she said.

For individuals already involved in TNR, fostering is a natural extension of that work. It offers an opportunity to provide cats, especially kittens, with a safe, supportive environment where they can grow, heal, and socialize.

For Amie, the connection to Whiskers Rescue was deeply personal. “While doing TNR independently, I rescued a young litter of kittens that had parvo. It devastated me. I reached out for help. A family member who also did TNR got me in contact with Robyn. I would say we chose each other.”
